Fire spreads from electric car to house in Norfolk
NORFOLK, Va. — 4 people have been displaced from their home after an electric car fire spread to their home Tuesday morning.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue says crews were called to a house fire in the 8500 block of Troy Street around 6:30 a.m. When they arrived, crews saw an electric vehicle on fire in the driveway of a home.
The spread to the house and everyone inside was evacuated safely.
Crews attacked the fire from inside the home and extinguished the flames with “minimal interior damage.”
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting the 4 people displaced.
Norfolk Fire-Rescue says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
