Former Google Cloud VP Jeff Reed joins Vectra AI as Chief Product Officer

Vectra AI has announced the expansion of its C-suite with the addition of Jeff Reed, former VP of Product for Google Cloud, to the role of Chief Product Officer. Reed’s appointment comes on the heels of strategic company growth, spurred by the successful release of the Vectra AI platform last summer and this year’s ground-breaking launch of Vectra MXDR, the industry’s first round-the-clock open MXDR service devised to ward off multi-pronged cyber attacks.

Jeff Reed’s extensive industry experience and multi-dimensional skills set were highlighted by Vectra AI’s President and CEO, Hitesh Sheth, “He brings diverse expertise and rich experience to our team at a time when AI is redefining how we detect threats and prioritize attacks.” Sheth continued, “I look forward to working closely with Jeff as we continue to set the new standard for threat detection and response while helping teams manage and reduce their growing workloads.”

Having previously held senior roles with business giants including Cisco and Symantec, Reed will head strategy across all product-related initiatives at Vectra AI. This includes engineering, product management, technical marketing, and customer support — taking a hands-on role with the team in order to oversee operations and deliver strategic direction, thereby generating exceptional value.

Prior to being appointed by Vectra AI, Reed most recently served as VP of Product for Cloud Security at Google Cloud, and at Cisco, he held the position of SVP of Product Management for the company’s $16B enterprise networking business and SVP and GM of cloud and network security. Recognised for his unique vision, experience, and leadership acumen, Reed will now employ his skills in directing the next stage of Vectra AI’s cybersecurity innovation.

Reflecting on his new position, Reed said, “I’m excited to work with a team that has built a truly differentiated approach to helping customers cut through the noise to detect hybrid cyber attacks quickly and at scale.” He praised the initiative shown by Vectra AI on creating the position; “By creating the Chief Product Officer role, Vectra AI is underscoring its commitment to delivering the best-in-class security solution on the market. I look forward to bringing my experience in cloud, networking, and identity to help ensure customers and their SOC teams are provided the most efficacious tools needed to drive efficiency and reduce cybersecurity risk.”

The implementation of the new role aligns with the company’s ambitious endeavour to eliminate compartmentalised threat detection in today’s blended attack landscape. Vectra AI is set to augment its broad guidance and equip customers with game-changing, AI-driven solutions to protect against the pervasive threat of cyber-attacks, a factor only amplified by the strengthening grip of the digital world.
