Four brand new electric vehicle charging stations now operational at Crosby’s in Friendship

From the NYS Power Authority,

#OnTheMove: Our EVolve NY high-speed network continues to expand across New York State. Four chargers capable of dispensing 350 kW are available at Crosby’s convenience store in Friendship off I-86 in Allegany County in Western New York.

That makes 43 locations with 38 more in development! #EarthMonth

Local Facebookers had a mixed reaction to the new charging stations just off Interstate 86 in Allegany County:

Ric Benkleman– Tops at 800 Harlem Rd. just put in 8 Tesla chargers. But, are they compatible to connect to all electric cars or just Teslas ? Haven’t seen any of them used yet either.

Michael Delaney– A fast charger near Mt Morris would encourage folks to drive their EV when visiting Letchworth State Park. Also, Downtown Rochester is a dead zone. Are there plans to include fast chargers at the new High Falls State Park that’s in the works?

Johnny Oshow– Why bother – hydrogen cars are 2 years away

Diane Monroe– Meanwhile we keep seeing our electric bills increase every month. Whenever the wind blows we lose power for periods of time, NY gets cold for those politicians and tree huggers that don’t understand that. We need fossil fuels to run those electric batteries and charging stations. Keep depleting our earth of these non replaceable components to make these batteries and dump the batteries back into our landfills when they die. Yeah this is a great idea! When we get our next blizzard are we going to have little electric charging stations fly around to all those stranded on the highways or let the people freeze to death?

Brian Schwerdt– I love your network and use it all the time! When can I hope to see a station open in Watkins Glen?
