How Financial Freedom Was My Gateway To Achieving Bigger Goals
As a young entrepreneur, I’ve always felt that embarking on the entrepreneurial journey is like standing at the base of a colossal mountain range. Each peak represents a challenge to conquer, and every valley echoes the triumphs of resilience. My journey didn’t start with the intention of becoming an entrepreneur. It was a calling, a passion that drove me to explore uncharted territories and redefine success on my terms.
Choosing A Path That Wasn’t Conventional Back In The Day
I graduated from IBS Hyderabad with a post-graduate degree and gained technical expertise in SAS and CHAID. My corporate experience at HDFC Bank and Deutsche Bank fine-tuned my skills in areas like Retail banking, Scorecard Development, Business Development, and Credit Risk assessment. I am now the COO of RING, a fintech company that has left an indelible mark on the industry.
However, there came a point when the conventional path felt like navigating well-trodden trails. The allure of entrepreneurship became irresistible. Drawing inspiration from my ‘baniya’ roots, I set out to etch my narrative in the rugged terrain of finance as a business.
My foray into the fintech industry wasn’t a leisurely hike, but I refused to be deterred. Scaling the peaks of success at a young age, I defied conversations around glass ceilings. My vision was clear – to instil financial confidence among women. I staunchly believed that women should feel empowered about managing their money, a sentiment I championed by actively including women in the fintech space. Today, countless women understand the importance of taking control of their finances, breaking free from dependence, and summiting their financial destinies.
Balancing the demands of motherhood with the challenges of startup life added another layer to my journey. As a mother of twins, I’ve grappled with the guilt of not spending enough time with my children. Yet, I’ve learned to navigate this mountainous terrain, allowing the lessons from motherhood and entrepreneurship to cascade into each other’s realms. This fusion has propelled me forward, even in the face of the steepest slopes.
Reflecting on my story serves as a reminder that every decision has the potential to alter our course, propelling us toward our goals. I believe in the transformative power of choosing the right path, asserting that financial freedom is a cause worth scaling – an active ascent, not a passive acceptance. With determination, resilience, and a commitment to making wise choices, the possibilities are truly as vast and majestic as a mountain range.
