How to find out if you’re eligible for $1,400 settlement
Anyone who has owned or leased a Chevy Bolt EV with a 2017 to 2022 model year might be eligible to receive up to $1,400 in a settlement due to a recall.
The recall is due to a battery defect and Chevy Bolt EV users are likely eligible for cash compensation between $700 to $1,400 as part of a $150 million settlement against General Motors and LG Energy Solution, according to settlement documents.
According to the settlement, Bolt owners who installed software that impacted the vehicle’s driving range on Dec. 31, 2023, or later are eligible to receive up to $1,400.
Those who owned or leased a Bolt prior to the software installation fix are eligible to receive $700.
The class action suit excludes customers who opted for GM’s buyback program, but doesn’t exclude drivers who already installed a new battery.
