I Invested 6+ Months Watching Interviews of $100M Entrepreneurs as a Bootstrapper, Learned Nothing — Don’t Watch These Interviews | by Sanjay Priyadarshi | Apr, 2024
As a bootstrapper, I spent over 6 months watching interviews and didn’t learn any valuable lessons.
I learnt things like:
- How to handle disputes.
- How to retain the top talent
- How to give employee feedback
When I was learning these things I thought I was onto something big. But in reality, it was nothing more than procrastination.
Here I have talked about the drawbacks of excessive consumption of these interviews.
When I started learning to code, I had a secret desire to build my own business.
At first, I was hesitant about whether I would look for a job or start my own business.
But as time passed and I consumed a lot of entrepreneurship-related content, I became sure I wanted to build a business.
When I wasn’t spending my time learning to code, I was watching interviews of successful entrepreneurs who had built a company worth over $100M.
It wasn’t like I was choosing these founders on purpose, but all the interviews and podcasts I consumed used to have these kinds of guests.
I thought these entrepreneurs had built something big and could easily teach me how to start and run a business.
Every day I learnt something new.
A few months after consuming this type of content, I started my first business. Since I have learned so many things, it would have been a success, but unfortunately, it failed.
Only sharing their wins
I have never shared anywhere why I started writing online after my failure.
Writing is good for personal brand and all. However, a key reason for writing online was to share lessons from my failure.
I never saw any of the successful entrepreneurs talk about their failures. They only use it…
