Inetum in Belgium wins two Smals government framework agreements in cybersecurity – Corporate

Inetum has been awarded two cybersecurity framework agreements by Smals, the joint ICT organization of Belgian public institutions. These wins reinforce Inetum’s commitment to safeguarding the security and integrity of Belgian citizens and enterprises’ data and digital communication channels. The framework agreements, accessible to all Belgian federal institutions, have a combined value of nearly €30M.

Inetum in Belgium, a market leader in digital services and solutions, has won two Smals government frame agreements. The first, a four-year tenure for Commvault Cloud backup software, marks the third consecutive awarding to Inetum. The second focuses on the provisioning of digital certificates.

These framework agreements strengthen the digital government landscape. Inetum will play a role in ensuring the security and integrity of the data and digital communication channels of Belgian citizens and enterprises, which aligns with its mission to contribute to the secure digitization of society through a B2B2S model (Business-to-Business-to-Society).

First contract: protecting government and citizens from cyber threats with Commvault

Smals has entrusted Inetum again with the Commvault contract. This four-year framework agreement encompasses the delivery of Commvault’s on-premise backup software, as well as maintenance and support, technical expertise services and training. As one of few Commvault Authorized Support Partners (CASP) in Belgium, Inetum provides direct support in all national languages, including CASP Foundation partner services.

Additionally, government institutions now have the option to procure the Commvault Cloud SaaS solution via Inetum. With an increasing trend towards cloud solutions among public institutions, Inetum anticipates a broad interest in this SaaS offering. The framework agreement holds an estimated value exceeding €26M as appraised by Smals—more than double the valuation of the previous framework agreement.

Jo Leemans, Director Technologies at Inetum Belgium explains, “The framework agreement, which again has been awarded to Inetum, is a testament to our extensive experience in cybersecurity and in delivering Commvault solutions. We are the only Market Builder solution provider in Belgium and Elite Partner of Commvault, which includes the highest level of certification. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Smals and its members!”

Second contract: ensuring secure digital communications with GMO GlobalSign

Inetum has also secured the framework agreement for digital certificates, with an estimated value of €2.75M over a four year period. Smals awarded the contract to Inetum and its partner GMO GlobalSign, a renowned expert in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)-based solutions. This framework agreement facilitates the central procurement of GMO GlobalSign solutions, making them readily available for all government agencies.

Specifically, the contract covers the procurement of digital certificates to place digital seals and signatures onto a document,  combined with an interface for managing users and certificates. Inetum is equipped to install and configure the certificates at customers’ premises, offering end-to-end security solutions. This offering underscores Inetum’s commitment to cybersecurity, characterized by reliability, agility, and performance efficiency.
