Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity accepted into prestigious national networks
Boise State’s Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity was added to the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics and the Academic Engagement Network of U.S. CyberCommand. Being welcomed into these prestigious networks welcomes opportunities for Boise State such as expanding the Cyberdome program’s reach, gaining knowledge spanning cyberspace law and more.
“Receiving these designations further affirms the fantastic work being done by Boise State to address the cybersecurity needs of our nation. The consortium recognizes our efforts to serve rural and underserved communities and small businesses throughout Idaho,” said Edward Vasko, the institute’s director. “The Academic Engagement Network designation of U.S. CyberCommand is a testament that our efforts are also helping the nation. This holistic, innovative approach would not be possible without the amazing work of our faculty, staff and most importantly, our students.”
Through the university’s competency development program, Cyberdome, students gain hands-on experience through real-world threats and issues. It equips cybersecurity students with six months of knowledge that prepares them for the workplace.
Both the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics and the Academic Engagement Network of U.S. CyberCommand share Boise State’s goals in expanding and enriching the cybersecurity realm. The Academic Engagement Network of U.S. CyberCommand enriches cybersecurity professionals through engaging with academia. The Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics aims to build a network of cybersecurity clinics in the hopes of communication to expand cybersecurity for the public good.
