Jeep unveils all-electric Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept
The all-electric SUV designed to excel both on the road and off and is built on the versatile STLA Large platform and features the Selec-Terrain system with modes including Auto, Sand, Snow, Eco, Sport, and the new Rock mode, as well as a driver-selectable electronic rear axle locker. Rugged 31.5-inch all-terrain tires and a lifted suspension enhance its off-road capabilities. The unveiling took place alongside the new all-electric 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition, marking a significant step for Jeep into the electric vehicle market.
Antonio Filosa, Jeep brand CEO, emphasized the brand’s commitment to maintaining its off-road heritage while embracing new technology. “Like all Jeep brand SUVs, the new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S descends from a rich heritage and is composed with legendary capability, innovative design, and the flexibility to perform at its best both on- and off-road,” he said. “The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept vehicle showcases what the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S lineup is truly capable of, whether cornering tight turns with ease or traversing new ground off the beaten path.”
The concept’s exterior design is both functional and distinctive. It includes heavy-duty tow hooks, functional air extractors, and a seven-slot illuminated grille with textured slots and Storm Gray metallic accents. The special-edition Banner exterior color is complemented by features such as an anti-glare hood decal, flush badging, and unique 18-inch multi-piece wheels. A laser-cut aluminum roof rack and dual-pane panoramic sunroof add to its rugged, adventurous appeal.
Inside, the Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept is tailored for off-road adventures. The interior features soft surfaces wrapped in Mantis Green non-leather synthetic material, accented with meteorite-inspired real stone veneer. The redesigned octagonal steering wheel allows for precise control with tactical-inspired grips and a rounded profile for easy manoeuvring over various terrains.
The instrument panel includes a functional cross-car grab bar for passenger stability, with exposed fasteners and threaded inserts for mounting gear. The aggressive front seats are both heated and ventilated, wrapped in Mantis Green with Ultraviolet accent stitching. The modular cargo management system in the doors and center console allows for customizable gear storage. A large open storage bin, wireless phone charger, and multiple USB outlets ensure that modern tools and accessories are easily powered.
The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept, along with the Wagoneer S Launch Edition, will first be available in North America in the second half of 2024, with plans to expand to markets worldwide. This concept vehicle represents Jeep’s vision for the future of adventure vehicles, combining electric technology with traditional off-road capability.
