Luis P. Untalan Middle School’s Team WildBots won first place in the Guam Department of Education’s May 18 robotics competition, a showcase of ingenuity and technical skills.
V.S.A Benavente Middle School’s Team Robowarriors 1 won second place.
Jose Rios Middle School’s Team Voyage bagged third place.
GDOE, in a press release, said the competition involved a series of complex tasks designed to challenge the participants’ abilities in design, programming, and control of their robots.
“It was an event that not only highlighted the competitors’ creativity and problem-solving skills but also their ability to work collaboratively towards a common goal,” GDOE said.
The department said the competition is crucial in nurturing the next generation of innovators and technologists who will lead Guam into a future where technology and human ingenuity converge to solve complex problems and create new opportunities.
“Moreover, the event was an excellent opportunity for students to engage in friendly competition while also learning from one another,” GDOE said. “As they observed the different approaches and solutions each team brought to the table, the students could gain new perspectives and ideas that could be applied to their own designs and strategies.”
