Main Line Health adopts Armis Centrix to boost cybersecurity

Main Line Health has adopted the Armis Centrix platform to gain comprehensive visibility and control over its connected assets, enhancing patient safety and cybersecurity.

The healthcare provider, which operates multiple hospitals and facilities in the US, discovered twice as many devices as previously estimated, including biomedical devices, through Armis Centrix. This has allowed Main Line Health to strengthen its security ecosystem and automate compliance, thereby advancing operational innovation.

Main Line Health chief information security officer Aaron Weismann emphasised the significance of Armis Centrix in the organisation’s cybersecurity programme.

Weismann said: “Armis is an integral part of Main Line Health’s cybersecurity programme, providing unparalleled visibility into every asset and device within our environment.

“As a hospital system dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, equitable and affordable care to treat and cure disease, Armis allows us to focus on what truly matters.”

The healthcare sector faces increasing cybersecurity challenges due to rapidly evolving care models and the accelerated adoption of technology. In the US, ransomware attacks in healthcare have surged by 128% from 2022 to 2023. This alarming trend underscores the necessity for robust cyber resilience strategies to protect patient data and ensure continuity of care.

The AI-powered Armis Centrix platform is designed to proactively mitigate risks, remediate vulnerabilities, block threats, and protect the entire attack surface without disrupting patient care.

Armis Centrix is claimed to offer full visibility and security across managed and unmanaged medical devices, clinical assets and the complete healthcare ecosystem.

Armis CTO for healthcare Mohammad Waqas said: “Armis understands the unique cybersecurity challenges within the healthcare industry, including safeguarding valuable data, ensuring continuity of care and preventing disruptive attacks that put patients – and the organisation – at risk.”

“We congratulate Main Line Health for its recent award recognition in cybersecurity excellence as it improves patient safety and treatment outcomes by enhancing cyber resilience.”

“Main Line Health adopts Armis Centrix to boost cybersecurity” was originally created and published by Hospital Management, a GlobalData owned brand.
