Marquis Who’s Who Honors Francisco Quevedo for Expertise in Marketing, Product Management, Education, and Insurance Brokerage

Dr. Quevedo has carved a distinguished career in academia, business and nonprofit management over the past four decades. Currently an assistant professor at Rutgers University since 2020, he is deeply committed to enhancing student engagement and integrating real-world experiences into academic settings. Dr. Quevedo’s role extends beyond teaching as the executive director of the laboratory for the advancement of nonprofits on campus. This initiative bridges nonprofit organizations with student-faculty teams to foster development within New Jersey’s nonprofit sector and beyond. Dr. Quevedo’s dedication to community service is further exemplified through his involvement in consulting for nonprofit organizations alongside his colleagues at Rutgers. His efforts aim to inspire students and facilitate meaningful educational experiences through community engagement and practical project involvement.

Prior to his tenure at Rutgers University, Dr. Quevedo held various positions that contributed to his expertise in marketing and product development. From 2019 to 2020, he was an adjunct instructor at New York University. Between 2017 and 2020, he served as an adjunct associate professor at Pace University, still engaging in non-teaching duties by invitation, as a professor at the IUS College of Insurance from 1983 and 1988, as a marketing instructor at PDVSA CIED between 1988 and 1993, and as a project coordinator at WSKF University from 2011 to 2016.

Aside from his academic appointments, Dr. Quevedo’s leadership skills were extensively honed during his time as the president and chief executive officer of TRUST Corretaje de Seguros from 1988 to 2018, where he brokered for such clients as DuPont, CVG Carbonorca, Oilven, and Prollosa. He then served as the president of QPP & Asociados from 1988 to 2016, operating in Panama and Caracas, providing strategy consulting to Fortune 100 companies, non-government organizations, and government entities worldwide.

Besides his primary career endeavors, Dr. Quevedo has contributed numerous articles to professional journals, including Rutgers Business Review, the Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Advanced Journal for Social Sciences. He has also contributed chapters to four book chapters. Furthermore, Dr. Quevedo has presented at several professional conferences.

Dr. Quevedo’s academic achievements have been pivotal to his professional success. He received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and marketing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1978, a Master of Business Administration from Pace University in 1982, followed by an advanced business degree in strategic planning and a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in neuromarketing from Pace University in 1983 and 2020, respectively. Dr. Quevedo speaks Spanish and English and is knowledgeable in Italian and French.

Outside the classroom, Dr. Quevedo is a member of the Association of National Advertisers. He has also been active civically, serving on the board of trustees for the Arigatai Foundation since 2017. He has also been affiliated with the WSKF Sports Foundation as a former comptroller, chief fundraiser, and president.

Dr. Quevedo aspires to continue contributing to academia through teaching and publishing. His commitment to staying current in his field while providing security and inspiration for future generations underscores his dedication to both personal growth and the advancement of others. Dr. Quevedo attributes much of his success thus far to his ability to inspire students by encouraging them to think long-term and establish effective routines.
