Mobi.E achieves new record of electric vehicle charging in May

The public charging network for electric vehicles, Mobi.E, announced on Tuesday that it recorded over 487,500 charging sessions in May.

In terms of energy consumption, records were also reached with nearly 10 million kWh, an 88% increase compared to the same period last year.

Overall, in the first five months of 2024, the public charging network registered “over two million charging sessions, carried out by over 150,000 distinct users, representing a 67% increase in both indicators compared to the first five months of last year”, according to the statement from Mobi.E.

Between January and May, approximately 45,000 MWh of energy were consumed, an 85% increase compared to the same period in 2023. “The continuous growth of the network is one of the main factors contributing to these positive numbers, as it has been keeping pace with the increase in the electric vehicle fleet”, adds the note from Mobi.E.

In May, the Mobi.E network included around 4,900 public access points, which equates to over 8,650 charging points. The power available on the network at the end of May was close to 270,000 kW.

In addition, at the end of May, Mobi-E had 1,800 fast or ultra-fast charging stations, which represents 36% of the total network.

“As for the impact of the Mobi.E network on the environment, from January to May, over 34,000 tonnes of CO2 were saved”.
