Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Managed Backup Solution Debuts: Blue Mantis, a provider managed services, cybersecurity and cloud solutions, has introduced Blue Mantis Managed Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS). The service provides midmarket and enterprise customers with secure and scalable cloud backup and recovery capabilities from a single point of contact while simplifying the management and administration of their backup operations, the company said.

2. Cyber Deal Inked: Everfox (formerly Forcepoint Federal) has announced a definitive agreement to purchase Garrison Technology Ltd. The addition of Garrison’s hardware-enforced security and software capabilities into the Everfox software suite of cross domain, threat protection and insider risk solutions will provide enterprise customers in government and regulated industries a broader set of innovative cybersecurity solutions to protect their digital infrastructure, the companies said. Everfox is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with offices also located in Champaign, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Malvern, United Kingdom.

3. Security Partnership Expands: Zscaler, a cloud security specialist, has enhanced its partnership with Google to help organizations simplify and strengthen their approach to zero trust. The integration with Chrome Enterprise will provide hundreds of millions of enterprise users with advanced threat and data protection without the need for legacy VPNs or requiring additional browsers, the company said. In addition, the integration of Zscaler with Google Workspace helps prevent the exfiltration of sensitive enterprise data from apps like Gmail and Drive. And the sharing of Zscaler’s security telemetry with Google Security Operations enables organizations to strengthen their security operations, all from the cloud.

4. Security Partnership: Intezer, an MSSP and specialist in AI-driven automation for security operations, is partnering with RSM, a professional services company, to fully automate and enhance their alert triage and incident response processes. This partnership enables the RSM Defense managed security operations center (SOC) to utilize Intezer’s AI technology for the strategic advantage of its clients. Using Intezer, RSM Defense cybersecurity practitioners receive detailed analysis about every alert so they can uncover hidden cyberattacks and act fast to protect clients globally, the company said.

5. Industry Recognition: Sherweb, a cloud marketplace provider, has attained all six Microsoft Solutions Partner designations. Part of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, these designations are awarded based on an organization’s ability to deliver on Microsoft technology. Sherweb is a Microsoft Solutions Partner in the following areas: Infrastructure (Azure), Data and AI (Azure), Digital and App Innovation (Azure), Security, Modern Work and Business Applications.

6. Ransomware Attack Reported: Ascension, one of the largest U.S. healthcare systems, reported that a May 2024 ransomware attack was caused by an employee who accidentally downloaded a malicious file onto a company device. The attack impacted electronic health records system, phones and systems used to order tests, procedures and medications, prompting Ascension to take some devices offline on May 8. 7. Designed to empower its membership base of certified cybersecurity professionals, the Cyber AI Toolkit equips members with AI-enabled cybersecurity courses at no cost, helping them be better prepared for today’s evolving cybersecurity landscape in the advent of AI.

9. AI Security Advancement: SailPoint Technologies, a specialist in unified identity security for enterprises, has brought to market an AI-powered application onboarding capability. This new capability will be integrated into SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and will simplify the process of integrating critical business applications, the company said. And by automating the onboarding process, SailPoint will deliver faster time to value, critical security of business applications and improving the user experience.
