Oglala Lakota Telecommunications offers kits for internet service
More tribal members on the Pine Ridge Reservation can now get access to the internet as part of a pilot program.
The Lakota Times reports Oglala Lakota Telecommunications, LLC, is offering Starlink kits for reservation households without high-speed internet.
The company bought the kits to help families while the company builds their system across the reservation.
Randy Hughes, the company’s director, said those interested must agree to register the kit in their name and pay the $90-a-month fee.
Tribal members can pick up an application form at the company’s office with a tribal ID or find it on their website.
