The Lil Lenny’s from OHS Robotics competed in the 2023-2024 VEX Middle School Robotics Championships held in Dallas, TX on April 28-30.

The Lil Lenny’s team that attended consisted of: Benson Bohlender, Talan and Lorelai Johnston and Riley Roessler. The team was accompanied by coaches Nic Simonson and Shane Kruse.

The championship field consisted of 492 teams from across the United States as well as over 30 other countries. The teams were randomly divided into 6 different divisions, the Lil Lenny’s were placed in the Technology division with 81 other teams. The division matches took place from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday morning. The teams were randomly paired in 2 vs 2 matches, with all teams competition in 10 qualifying matches. After all 205 qualification matches were completed, the Lil Lenny’s had a record of 4-6 and ranked 33rd in the division. They knew not was going to be a long shot to make an alliance to get into the elimination tournament. And, unfortunately they did not.

The team was able to leave Dallas with a lot of memories, new friends made and great ideas to take into next year’s game.

The new game for the 2024-2025 season was revealed at the closing ceremonies, it’s called High Stakes. Looks like a fun challenge.
