Onyxia Cyber unveils AI-driven predictive cybersecurity engine OnyxAI

Cybersecurity management company, Onyxia Cyber, has announced the launch of OnyxAI, an AI-driven Predictive Cybersecurity Management Engine. The new machine learning (ML) solution aims to give chief information security officers (CISOs) a deeper, more predictive level of security analysis and management. The goal is to offer powerful insights that security leaders can lean on to optimise security performance, resource allocation, and risk management more proactively.

“There’s a real need in the market for security solutions that simplify operations for CISOs, many of whom continue to use Excel spreadsheets to manage security programs,” Sivan Tehila, CEO and Founder of Onyxia said. She adds that the AI-powered OnyxAI aims to support the responsibilities of CISOs by offering a more advanced, efficient, and accurate solution which uses AI to harness insights, facilitate data-driven decisions, and amplify security efforts. This becomes even more pertinent as pressure on these roles increase due to new industry regulations such as those introduced by the SEC last year.

The OnyxAI uses statistical analysis in conjunction with machine learning and generative AI, including LLM and NLP models. It analyses data collected from an organisation’s security ecosystem. By integrating OnyxAI into Onyxia’s Cybersecurity Management Platform, a security team will be able to identify redundancies in their security stack, receive suggestions to improve security program performance, and gain program trend predictions which enhance risk management efficiency and reduce possible future crises.

Rinki Sethi, VP & CISO at BILL, highlighted how CISOs play a strategic role in an organisation, managing an intricate interplay between business objectives, technology capabilities, and regulatory landscapes. Sethi views predictive AI like OnyxAI as beneficial in aiding CISOs to achieve better risk management and deliver stronger business outcomes. He expressed excitement towards companies like Onyxia incorporating technologies that assist CISOs in meeting their evolving roles.

Gartner Emerging Tech’s 2024 report titled ‘The Emergence of AI-Based Predictive Security’ forecasts that predictive security is expected to evolve over the next two years to help combat increasingly sophisticated and targeted attacks.

Onyxia had launched its Cybersecurity Management Platform in the previous year to help CISOs measure the performance of an enterprise’s cybersecurity programs and mitigate risk. This platform works by combining Cybersecurity Defense Planning and Optimization (CDPO), Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture (CSMA), and Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) into one viable solution.

By leveraging insights from OnyxAI, CISOs can make strategic security decisions in a data-driven manner across multiple domains. This includes Detection & Response, Vulnerability Management, Training and Awareness, Cloud Security, Identity & Access Management, and Device Management. Key benefits include predictive recommendations for a stronger security program, identifying gaps and redundancies for an optimised security strategy, deeper analysis of program performance saving valuable time, enabling CISOs to save costs and better plan their security program budget.

OnyxAI also allows CISOs to ask questions using natural language to receive accurate predictive insights. Such as ‘Which of my Cybersecurity Performance Indicators are at risk for not meeting their service-level agreements and how can I prevent this?’ or ‘Which devices in the organisation lack coverage with EDR?’ or even, ‘How many employees have not yet completed the annual security training?’

With the incorporation of AI into cybersecurity management, tools like OnyxAI aim to provide a critical asset in the increasingly complex realm of data security.
