Orangetown Cheers On Tappan Zee High School’s Robotics Team – Rockland News


Orangetown, NY — Supervisor Kenny and the Orangetown Town Board extend their best wishes to the Tappan Zee High School’s FIRST Robotics Championship team, the SO BOTZ Team 6911, as they head to the 2024 World Championship in Houston.

The team’s journey to the World Championship has been nothing short of inspiring. Demonstrating incredible skill and ingenuity, SO BOTZ Team 6911 was a formidable competitor, reaching finalist positions at both the Hudson Valley and Tech Valley regional competitions. Their remarkable achievements are a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and innovative spirit.

The pinnacle of their success thus far came with their win of the prestigious Engineering Inspiration Award at the Finger Lakes Regional last month, a victory that secured their place at the World Championship. This award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community.

As they compete on the global stage, the students carry with them not only the pride of Tappan Zee High School but the entire Orangetown community. Their accomplishments in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) serve as an inspiration to all and shine a light on the bright future of innovation.
