Patoranking champions free data science and analytics training for Gen Z – Nairobi News

Patoranking, one of the most versatile artists in African music, is taking significant steps to empower the next generation by offering free data science and analytics training.

In partnership with ALX; a leading provider of technology training, the acclaimed reggae and dancehall star is providing scholarships for young Africans to learn vital technology skills.

Born Patrick Okorie in the Ebute Metta community of Lagos, Nigeria, Patoranking rose to fame with hits that have resonated from Nigeria to the Caribbean. His collaborations with top artistes such as Tiwa Savage, Buju Banton and Lauryn Hill, along with over 350 million views and 1 million subscribers on YouTube, have cemented his status as an international icon.

Despite his global success, Patoranking remains deeply connected to his roots. Growing up in a single room with his parents and five siblings, he experienced first-hand the challenges of financial hardship.

These experiences fueled his determination to create a better future, not only for himself, but for young Africans everywhere.

For the past six years, the Patoranking Foundation has been dedicated to empowering young Africans through education. The Foundation’s mission is to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent the continent’s next great disruptors from gaining the skills and networks they need to succeed.

The Foundation’s latest initiative is a partnership with ALX to provide scholarships to 40 innovative and mission-driven young students. These scholarships will provide access to transformative technology courses and career-ready training, equipping recipients with critical data analytics skills.

“Every day I wish and pray that I can help the world, save the world, become Superman and save the world. That is my prayer,” Patoranking shared on October 9, 2023.
