Pg Diploma Entrepreneurship: EDII offers PG diploma in entrepreneurship, innovation | Madurai News


Madurai: The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute – Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN) is offering PG diploma in entrepreneurship and innovation for 500 students looking to develop their entrepreneurial skills across Tamil Nadu.C Umashankar, additional chief secretary/ director, EDII-TN, told reporters in Madurai that this programme is aimed at developing more entrepreneurs across all fields. “EDII Ahmedabad is a leader in entrepreneurship education. They run entrepreneurship courses and have a good success rate in turning their students into entrepreneurs. With their support, the Tamil Nadu government has now approved a one-year course in entrepreneurship by EDII-TN in collaboration with EDII Ahmedabad,” he said.Fee for the one-year programme is 1 lakh and the age limit is 25 years but relaxable up to 30 years for differently abled, SC and ST students. An online entrance exam for 60 marks and direct interview for 40 marks will be conducted to select students with a quota for each district in the state.“The reason for the filtration to just 500 students is because high-value training will be provided at a low cost which otherwise may cost students more than six times in other institutions. Campaigns are being held to create awareness about this programme which can benefit those from poor backgrounds as well,” explained Shankar. The official also assured that all support would be provided by EDII-TN to all deserving students if they are keen to become entrepreneurs.
