Location: Bredbury (Southside site)

Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 Per Annum

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Working Hours: 38 hrs per week (Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:50)

Heat Trace is a manufacturing and engineering company with our headquarters and main manufacturing unit in Helsby Cheshire, we also have two manufacturing facilities at Bredbury, Stockport. The prime activity of the business is the manufacture of highly technical heating cables for use predominantly in the oil and gas and advanced processing industries.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • To develop a strong understanding of the market requirements for HTL’s products by working closely with the sales team
  • Provide detailed feedback to R&D on market driven requirements along with justifications on new product requirements
  • Technical specification responsibility for the complete portfolio of Heat Trace products
  • Product/Application Promotion by providing attractive and modern imagery/media to the company marketing team
  • Maintaining a strategic involvement with the R&D team on new product developments
  • Management of New Product Development market launch process – working as part of an agreed handover process with the R&D, Manufacturing and Sales team
  • Consulting with both sales and management teams on product price and margin setting
  • Supporting the sales team with product presentations and demonstrations
  • Understanding the competition and providing commercial input on product market pricing including ancillary products
  • Working closely with the sales department in agreeing channel (End User, Distribution, Group trading) discounting/commercial strategy
  • Supporting the decision-making process on in-house vs bought in ancillary products
  • Demonstration facility development and management
  • Training – Production, maintenance and delivery of training material using all forms of media to both internal and external customers
  • Trace Heating Design Software – supervision and management of HTL design tools including but not limited to TraceIT
  • Provision and Continuous Improvement of product related material that can be accessed on the website by both occasional visitors and our ‘Expert’ users
  • Supporting the marketing team wherever required with product based material for both website and webshop

About You:

Skills and Qualities Required:

  • Educated to HND/Degree level in an appropriate technical subject
  • Experience of both commercial and technical aspects of product management
  • Technical capability ideally in relatable fields of electrical engineered products
  • Detailed process application and industrial market knowledge
  • Trace Heating and wider Heating market knowledge whilst not essential would be a benefit
  • Commercial experience for product pricing and margin setting
  • Graphic design capability and good knowledge of graphic design tools
  • Logical problem solving abilities
