Welcome back to INGENIOUS, the weekly newsletter that explores hacking our productivity. We’re thrilled to have reached week 7 of our eight-week automation series! It’s been an enlightening journey so far. After laying the groundwork in previous weeks, we’re investigating robotic process automation (RPA) and the logical progression in business innovation.

This week, we’re focusing on the significance of RPA in manufacturing and processing workflows. RPA bots serve many purposes, from data entry to food production to psychiatry!

Throughout the series, we’ve explored components that seamlessly interconnect to optimize work and life. Now, let’s delve into the practical benefits of Robotic Process Automation in manufacturing and processing workflows. Understanding how it enhances efficiency and maximizes productivity across different domains will empower you to make informed decisions.

Stay tuned for more insights, tips, and practical advice on effectively leveraging automation in your daily life.

What is a “robot” anyway? According to the Oxford Dictionary, a ‘robot’ is a ‘machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements and functions automatically.’ They can close doors, pick up objects, and speak common phrases. Robots like R2D2 are depicted daily in literature and Hollywood films, mainly in the science fiction genre. Robotics are widely used in industries such as automobile manufacturing to perform simple repetitive tasks and in industries where work must be performed in environments that are hazardous to humans.

My two cents:

Remember that people program robots. They can’t program themselves. In a way, we’re all robots, as others programmed us to think and act a certain way from a young age. That’s what the process of enlightenment and self-realization is all about. That’s a topic for another day.

RPA tech leverages preprogrammed software robots, or “bots,” that mimic human actions within digital systems. This streamlines digital workflows and automates repetitive tasks…
