Rochester police test new electric vehicle

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department is testing out a new electric vehicle in an effort to make their work more energy efficient.

This push is being spearheaded by state and federal officials, encouraging folks to re-evaluate their carbon footprint.

RPD says its traffic enforcement unit is operating the vehicle, taking note of the car’s capabilities.

RPD said you won’t see cars like this one on the patrol units anytime soon, because they need to be charged too frequently.
