Siemens and Microsoft Partner to Deliver AI-Enhanced Solutions for Product Lifecycle Management on Azure –

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced an expansion of its partnership with Microsoft to make the Siemens Xcelerator as a Service portfolio of industry software available through Microsoft’s cloud and AI platform, Azure. This collaboration aims to integrate Siemens’ software with generative AI and Copilot features, enhancing flexibility and choice for Siemens’ customers while making Microsoft’s AI solutions more accessible.

The partnership will commence with the delivery of Teamcenter® X software, a scalable and secure Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution, on Microsoft Azure. This move allows customers to implement mission-critical solutions on their preferred cloud and AI platform, benefiting from Microsoft’s responsible AI tools and enterprise-grade security. Teamcenter X empowers teams to streamline operations, reduce cycle time, minimize IT costs, and accelerate innovation.

This collaboration builds upon the recent launch of the Teamcenter app on Microsoft Teams, facilitating seamless communication between frontline factory and service teams and design and engineering teams through Siemens’ industry-leading Teamcenter software. Leveraging advances in generative AI and Natural Language Processing, Siemens developers have integrated custom copilot functionality into the app, enabling frontline workers to access engineering data and collaborate effectively.

Siemens is also developing a Copilot for Microsoft 365 plugin for the Siemens Teamcenter app on Teams, allowing workers across the product lifecycle and value chain to better manage their workloads. This plugin enables users to seek assistance from Microsoft Copilot within the Teams app, enhancing productivity and collaboration.

Nick Parker, President, Industry & Partnerships at Microsoft, highlighted the significance of bringing Azure AI to the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to meet market demand and drive customer-centric innovation. The collaboration aims to empower design engineers, frontline workers, and teams across business functions and geographies, fostering innovation and productivity.
