Standard Chartered appoints Lavy Stokhamer as MD and Global Head of Cybersecurity Operations, ETCIO SEA
Standard Chartered Bank, one of the largest global banks, recently announced the appointment of Lavy Stokhamer as its new Managing Director and Global Head of Cybersecurity Operations. With 53 dynamic markets, the bank serves clients in 64 additional markets. The bank’s purpose is to drive commerce and prosperity through its unique diversity, reflected in its brand promise, “Here for good.” In his role, Lavy reports directly to the Global Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and will be based in Singapore.Lavy brings a wealth of expertise from both the private and public sectors. Previously, he led the Israeli national CERT for four years, overseeing national operations and incident response. He played a crucial role in establishing numerous international cooperation agreements and representing Israel in global initiatives against cyber threats and crime organisations.
Lavy has significantly contributed to the World Economic Forum’s Partnership against Cybercrime initiative, collaborating with INTERPOL, Europol, the Cyber Threat Alliance, the Cyber Defence Alliance, FIRST, and leading corporations to combat global cybercrime and foster public-private cooperation. He also spearheaded the establishment of the first Israeli relationship with FSISAC and created an innovative umbrella contract for strategic partnerships within the Israeli financial sector.
Additionally, Lavy led an innovation venture within a major Israeli bank, promoting new cyber security companies and collaborating with international venture capital firms. He is a respected public speaker, advisory board member, and expert in technology validation for venture capital.
