The Delta Sharing connector, developed in collaboration with the Linux Foundation, represents an open and secure method of data sharing. Over the past year, both companies have worked together to integrate this technology into Tableau, fostering a spirit of collaboration. It is now fully integrated with Tableau’s data management features, including Tableau Prep, Tableau Catalog, and Tableau Server, providing comprehensive data management and analytics solutions.

Explore in Tableau
Aiming to simplify data analysis, the new “Explore in Tableau” feature allows users to connect to data with a single click, fostering quicker insights. This feature is designed to integrate data insights more directly into user experiences, addressing challenges commonly faced by IT organizations. The “Explore in Tableau” function enables users to stay within their workflow in the browser, enhancing productivity and data governance. A pilot program for this feature will launch in the coming months, with general availability to follow shortly.
Additionally, enhancements to the Databricks SQL connector include support for advanced authentication modes, OAuth, and the option to bring your own identity provider. These updates have resulted in a performance improvement of 20%.
