Tampa Police Department unveils first batch of electric vehicles

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Police Department unveiled its first batch of electric vehicles on Tuesday as part of a million-dollar grant to reduce its carbon footprint.
The department announced the purchase of at least a dozen new electric police vehicles, thanks to a grant secured by U.S. Representative Kathy Castor.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, and Rep. Castor spoke at the unveiling.
