Our customer base has grown by 148,000, driven by the enhanced quality and expansion of our 5G mobile and fibre broadband networks. This growth is supported by our capital investment of over €1 billion since 2018.”
Mr Loomes says eir continues to invest €250 million per annum, ensuring that Ireland is equipped with world-class communications infrastructure. “Ongoing investment in communications infrastructure is crucial for driving Ireland’s economic expansion, sparking innovation, and maintaining our competitive edge on the global stage.”
According to eir, its operating costs during the first quarter of 2024 totalled €109m – an increase of 4% or €4m year on year. Non-pay costs increased by €4m over the 12 months due to an increase in accommodation and marketing costs, while pay costs remained stable.
