Times Power Women 2024: Empowering change and celebrating triumphs of women entrepreneurs | India News
Over the years, generations of women have defied norms, breaking barriers with determination and resilience. From visionary entrepreneurs to trailblazing leaders, they have inspired change and driven innovation. Their stories are not just personal triumphs but also symbols of collective empowerment.
Optimal Media Solutions, a division of the Times Group Company, envisioned ‘Times Power Women 2024’, recognising the imperative to honour these exceptional leaders. The inaugural edition of this grand award ceremony was recently held at Novotel HICC in Hyderabad. The momentous occasion was dedicated to applauding the outstanding achievements and contributions of women from all walks of life.
The star-studded event was graced by notable personalities, including chief guest Danasari Anasuya, fondly known as Sethakka, the Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, RWS, Women and Child Welfare, Government of Telangana; guests of honour Shikha Goel IPS (Additional Director General of Police, CID, Telangana, Incharge Addl. DGP Women, Safety Wing, Telangana, Incharge Director TSCSB, Incharge Director TSFSL), Smita Sabharwal (Secretary, State Finance Commission, Government of Telangana) and the renowned versatile actress Tabu.
Speaking at the event, Danasari Anasuya said, “I congratulate Times of India for organising such a good event and special thanks for inviting me here! I appreciate the fact that they have identified women achievers across different fields and have organised this event to recognise and felicitate them. An event such as this is a true motivation to women.”
Shikha Goel expressed, “They say that behind every successful man, there’s a woman. I believe we need men who say to the women in their lives, you can stand anywhere you wish to with me, just hold my hand. We need men who do not relegate to shadows but make women equal partners in life. It is indeed a pleasure and privilege to be present here. I extend my gratitude to Times of India for celebrating this occasion, a day beyond International Women’s Day. My heartfelt congratulations to all the winners this evening! I am cognizant of the grit, determination, and sacrifices that have propelled you to your current stature.”
Smita Sabharwal highlighted, “Hard work is the only superpower! My mantra for success has been hard work, teamwork and consistency. The greater the obstacle one overcomes, the greater the glory! Hearty congratulations to the Times Group for organising such a wonderful event! Years of hard work while holding different positions in various segments earned me the stage where I am today. The drive to excel has been the key to my motivation, and I’m glad to see women rising and shining across different fields.”
A gathering, with numerous intellectual minds, under one roof can’t be complete without an invigorating, thought-provoking discussion. The compelling panel discussion titled ‘Breaking barrier (women in leadership): Explore the challenges and successes of women in leadership roles across various industries’ moderated by Shilpa Nainani, had prominent panellists including Priyadarshini Gazdar, Manisha Saboo, Shilpa Reddy and Dr P. Madhurima Reddy engaged in insightful dialogue.
Priyadarshini expressed, “Though the cape of women being multi-taskers is a little heavy, I think we bear it with the laws of grace and dignity and a lot of enthusiasm.” Manisha felt, “Women need to invest in themselves, especially in IT. They need to learn new technology and new ways of working.” Dr Madhurima said, “I think everyone who has achieved something has overcome many challenges.” “We must never be adequate when it comes to looks. Real beauty comes from inside and not from multiple visits to a skin care centre,” added Shilpa.
The splendid event hosted by Neha was peppered with performances by the ‘Aaryan Dance Crew’. The audience was entertained by the dancers’ infectious energy and enthusiasm.
Moreover, Times Power Women 2024 boasted the proud sponsorship of Presenting Sponsor Mangala Gowri Grandeur and Powered By Sponsor Manepally Jewellers. Several industry leaders also highlighted their support for women’s power as Education Partner Jubilee Hills Public School, Rampally, Supermarket Partner Ushodaya Supermarket, Auto Partner Harsha Toyota, Trophy Partner Gurus Enterprises and Digital Partner Telugu Samayam.
Taking the stage, Sunayana Manepally, from Manepally Jewellers, a jewellery brand in existence for 13 decades, said, “This awards event is certainly an inspiration for me. I would like to congratulate everyone today because it is not easy to reach this level of achievement and be recognised. The panel discussion was truly a learning session for the younger generation like me. Jewellery and women is a never-ending love story. Visit our store and explore rich heritage and culture through our collections.”
Addressing the gathering, Krishnamurthy Sirna expressed, “My heartfelt congratulations to all present. Our Vedas affirm that with unwavering determination, the seemingly impossible becomes achievable. Today marks an auspicious occasion in light of this event. Usually, many visit Kanchi to buy sarees for weddings and auspicious occasions. But now, we have brought drapes with Kanchi quality and pricing to Hyderabad. With a vision to transform the business into a temple, we have opened Mangala Gowri Grandeur, our fifth store in the city.”
