Toyota and 4 other Japan automakers committed irregularities: ministry

TOKYO — Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on Monday announced that it has found irregularities at Toyota Motor, Mazda, Yamaha Motor, Honda Motor, and Suzuki Motor.
In response to previous problems at Daihatsu Motor and Toyota Industries, the ministry had instructed 85 companies, including car and equipment makers, to investigate whether there had been any irregularities in their model certification applications process during the past 10 years.
