Vipin Chandran leads SAP Malaysia

SAP has promoted Vipin Chandran as the managing director of Malaysia. He takes on the new role from Saqib Sabah, who left the company to pursue other opportunities.

In his new role, Chandran will focus on strengthening the digital transformation capabilities of organisations in Malaysia and accelerating their growth in the rising AI economy. He will also prioritise helping businesses build resilient and agile supply chains and create a more sustainable future.

“Malaysia’s digital economy continues to be one of the country’s strongest and fastest-growing sectors, accounting for more than 23 percent of its GDP last year,” Chandran said. “The country’s latest budget signals the government’s commitment to continue its transformation into a regional digital powerhouse.

“I am excited to take the helm at SAP Malaysia at this crucial juncture and look forward to working closely with both public and private sector organisations to navigate this dynamic landscape together.”

Prior to his promotion, he was Chief Partner Officer at SAP Southeast Asia, where he was responsible for empowering more than 500 partner organisations. Before that, he held various sales, services, and partner leadership roles across various regions.

“He will be the driving force for our customers and partners to harness the transformative power of the cloud and Business AI, and accelerate their businesses toward a sustainable, intelligent, and networked future,” SAP SEA president and managing director Verena Siow said.
