VIT Launches Online MBA, MSc Data Science, and MCA Programs for Professionals
Today’s job market has a great need for professionals who can formulate long-term business strategies to navigate complex market dynamics for sustainable growth. Recognising this demand, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)—one of India’s top universities and ranked 8th among the 2023 NIRF University Rankings—has announced the launch of three online degree programmes: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Data Science (MSc DS) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). All three programmes are UGC Entitled/AICTE approved and will include online classes by the esteemed VIT faculty, along with pre-recorded sessions.
VIT’s Online MBA
VIT has introduced these online programmes to cater to professionals who are looking to rapidly upskill to stay relevant in the market. According to the International MBA Survey 2020, 45% of global recruiters ‘strongly agreed’ that MBA graduates have the skills and capacity to become senior leaders at leading global organisations. The MBA from VIT is designed for early-to-mid-level professionals who want to improve their managerial skills and transition to senior roles, senior professionals who want to learn how to formulate long-term business strategies to navigate complex market dynamics for sustainable growth, and graduates or entry-level professionals. The curriculum covers a range of topics, such as managerial economics, data analytics, operations management, business analysis and valuation, security analysis and portfolio management. This two-year degree programme has a fee of INR 1,60,000 and starts 14 August 2024.
The MSc Data Science from VIT is designed for early-to-mid-career working professionals in data science, analytics or the IT industry who have bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, computer science, physics, statistics, engineering or technology. This programme is also suitable for new graduates with bachelor’s degrees or entry-level professionals in non-data-science roles. The four-semester programme includes application-based learning with tools, as well as modules on topics such as AI and ML, Python programming, forecasting and predictive analytics, statistical inference, data structures and algorithms, data mining, and big data analytics. This two-year degree programme has a fee of INR 1,50,000 and starts 14 August 2024.
According to a McKinsey Global Institute report, digital technologies have the potential to create 65 million new jobs in India by 2025. Aiming to help the growth of the sector, the MCA from VIT is designed for software engineers, developers and consultants; web designers and developers; app developers; full stack engineers; front-end developers; software architects; and other professionals in digital technology roles. The comprehensive curriculum includes a choice of electives to help learn about trending technologies, such as AI, ML, blockchain, cybersecurity, AR/VR and big data. The programme also provides hands-on experience with tools and programming languages. This two-year degree programme has a fee of INR 1,40,000 and starts 14 August 2024.
On successful completion of the programmes, students will be awarded the degrees of completion by VIT. Participants will also receive the prestigious VIT alumni status and access to exclusive VIT alumni events and networking opportunities.
