Wavelink certified to offer Fortinet cybersecurity training in AUS
Wavelink, a provider of enterprise solutions to the channel, has announced its certification from cybersecurity giant Fortinet to become an Authorised Training Centre (ATC). This accomplishment allows Wavelink to offer in-depth, in-person cybersecurity training based on the Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certification programme. As an ATC, Wavelink will be solely responsible for delivering the Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) FortiGate Administrator course across Australia.
With this new accreditation, Wavelink becomes the sole recognised Australian Fortinet distributor capable of offering scheduled in-person training sessions. This move highlights the organisation’s dedication to providing hands-on, interactive learning experiences. Wavelink will also introduce the FortiGate Immersion Lab, where end-users, partners, and students focused on cybersecurity can gain practical, in-depth understanding of complex security concepts. Additionally, Wavelink plans to cater to specific company needs by offering private training events upon request.
John Milionis, Channel Director at Fortinet, remarked, ‘Fortinet is pleased to extend its partnership with Wavelink through its ATC certification and delivery of the NSE training programmes to end-users, partners, and students. Wavelink’s role as an accredited ATC provider aligns perfectly with Fortinet’s mission to address the cybersecurity skills gap through comprehensive training and will contribute to Fortinet’s pledge to train one million people by 2026.’
Ilan Rubin, Chief Executive Officer at Wavelink, commented, ‘Cybersecurity threats are evolving at an unprecedented rate, posing a significant challenge for Australian businesses. Coupled with the ongoing labour shortages and cybersecurity skills gaps, it’s imperative for organisations to stay ahead in safeguarding their digital infrastructure. Achieving the ATC accreditation empowers Wavelink to play a pivotal role in bridging this gap. Through its specialised training programmes and ongoing partnership with Fortinet, Wavelink is committed to its role as a trusted advisor, equipping professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to effectively counteract emerging threats, elevating cybersecurity competencies across Australia.’
The Fortinet NSE certification programme, meticulously crafted and researched over several years, aims to address the rapidly changing threat landscape and job market demands. It includes a broad array of courses that demonstrate proficiency in advanced cybersecurity concepts. Each programme level assesses specific cybersecurity expertise, ranging from foundational knowledge to advanced architectural skills. Training sessions are conducted by certified Fortinet instructors using officially developed courseware and adhere to the high quality standards established by Fortinet. Wavelink’s Fortinet certified trainers are essential in helping Fortinet end-users, partners, and students become adept cybersecurity professionals, recognised for their expertise in the field.
The inaugural course offered by Wavelink is the FCP FortiGate Administrator, focusing on product version FortiOS 7.4. The course will be virtually led by Dr. Shihab Haque, an esteemed computer scientist and cybersecurity professional with over 16 years of experience in industrial research and development, academic teaching, and professional training. Dr. Haque has significantly contributed as a cybersecurity consultant scientist for numerous national projects in Singapore and has taught at five universities in Australia, Singapore, and Bangladesh, including the University of New South Wales.
This new certification and training opportunity signifies a major step in advancing cybersecurity knowledge and capabilities in Australia, addressing the skills gap and preparing professionals to meet future challenges.
