BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The co-founder of Shazam and the CEO of a nonprofit investing in startups founded by Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs are headline keynote speakers for Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.

Co-founder of Shazam Dhiraj Mukherjee and CEO of Black Ambition Prize Felecia Hatcher will be giving their keynotes on the morning of Thursday, May 9.

BREW is a three-day entrepreneurial event from May 7-9 at Mid City Tower located at 5700 Florida Blvd. Each day features workshops, speakers and sessions about growing businesses.

This year’s theme, “Stayin’ Alive,” aims to encourage business owners “to tackle challenges with determination and strategic thinking, ultimately building businesses that not only survive, but thrive,” according to BREW.

Event organizers said Mukherjee resonates with the theme, adding that he has channeled his expertise into investing in over 250 startups ranging from AI to climate tech.

“Mukherjee’s keynote promises to captivate attendees with engaging anecdotes, thought-provoking insights, and invaluable lessons from his remarkable career,” Nexus Louisiana said in a news release.

Hatcher, BREW’s second keynote speaker, has invested in over 100 entrepreneurs who have raised over $95 million collectively as the CEO of Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Prize.

She will be guiding BREW attendees through a session aimed at revolutionizing an approach to work and innovation, according to Nexus Louisiana.

Passes for BREW are on sale online. Daily passes are $45 and an All Access Pass is $100.
