With Secure CEO: Need Better Protection for Mid-Sized Businesses
Mid-sized cyber practitioners often lack digital confidence.
Mid-sized businesses are not confident about their cybersecurity posture and often “lack digital confidence.”
Speaking at the With Secure ‘Sphere’ conference in Helsinki, interim CEO Antti Koskela said that for businesses in the medium enterprise category, “their cybersecurity playbook is broken” as it is currently built for large enterprises and this leaves mid-sized businesses “are left behind.”
This leads to a lack of confidence among practitioners working at that level, while cyber-criminals don’t lack confidence, operate at scale and can scan the internet in hours for vulnerabilities.
Koskela said it is the “role of security to address that gap and work with partners on how it looks for mid-sized companies.”
Cybersecurity: Not an Option
He went on to say that the “democratisation of cybersecurity is not an option, but a necessity” and resiliency looks like for the mid-market needs to be done.
In particular, practitioners at the mid-sized businesses “need simplicity and productivity, and to close the gap to minimum security,” he said. “The number one challenge and goal is to close the gap, and we’re on a mission with our partners to bring good cybersecurity for mid-sized customers.”
