Women in Entrepreneurship Support Project Closing Out Ceremony – Jamaica Information Service

Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator the Hon. Aubyn Hill (eighth left); High Commissioner for Canada to Jamaica, Her Excellency Emina Tudakovic (seventh right); and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Sancia Bennett Templer (third right), share a photo opportunity with participants in the Women in Entrepreneurship Support (WES) project, at the closing ceremony held on April 18 at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Kingston.  The WES Project was initiated by MIIC in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sport through the Bureau of Gender Affairs. The objective was to provide capacity-building, technical assistance and financial support to women-owned micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) by boosting their ability to scale their operations, become formal businesses and increase their potential for additional business opportunities.

The WES Project was initiated by MIIC in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sport through the Bureau of Gender Affairs, with the objective of addressing the obstacles encountered by women-owned micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
