Yahoo News appoints Andrew Machado as VP of product management

Yahoo has announced the appointment of Andrew Machado as vice president of product management for Yahoo News. As the leading news site with over 170 million monthly U.S. visitors,* the new hire signals a critical step forward as Yahoo News continues to expand.

“Our mission is to deliver high quality and trustworthy content to our readers through an excellent user experience across every platform,and Andrew will be a key leader in developing that experience,” said Kat Downs Mulder, SVP and general manager of Yahoo News. “Andrew has developed strong teams and delivered excellence in digital product experiences in multiple past roles, including at ESPN and MGM , and his expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow our news division.” 

With more than two decades in digital media, Machado has steered digital product management for major consumer brands such as ESPN and MGM Resorts International. As VP of product management, Machado reports directly to Mulder, overseeing product strategy, development and delivery for all Yahoo News products. This includes the transformation of Yahoo’s homepage and Yahoo Newsweb properties, apps and newsletters — reaching about 35 million users every day — along with driving new initiatives and offerings.

Prior to joining Yahoo News, Machado served as SVP of product design and excellence at MGM Resorts International, where he oversaw all areas of digital product and design, including MGMResorts.com and the MGM mobile app.
