Youth Powering Media and Information Literacy Responses to the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative Artificial Intelligence is having a significant impact on people’s engagement with information whether it is used to access, produce, or share news content. This new technology introduces novel possibilities while also amplifying concerns, including disinformation, declining freedom of expression, compromised access to information, privacy breaches, discrimination, reinforcement of gender inequalities and racism, and intellectual property violations.
