Toyota chief apologies for safety lapses at shareholders meeting
TOKYO — Toyota Motor President Koji Sato apologized on Tuesday for irregularities in the company’s auto safety and performance tests at its annual shareholders meeting.
“We sincerely apologize to our customers and shareholders for the worries and troubles we have caused them,” Sato said at the annual shareholders meeting, which began at 10 a.m. at the automaker’s headquarters in Aichi prefecture in central Japan.
